Our nonprofit talk (#NpTalk) Twitter Chat on September 1, 2010 was well attended and it was a great topic. Social media and the law was the topic and we were very lucky to have two experienced lawyers present to give us their legal opinion on managing social media for nonprofits. Karen Lundquist (@MplsLawyer) owner of Avanti Law, Minneapolis Law firm and Jeff O’Brien (@JeffObrien) partner at Mansfield, Tanick and Cohen were our legal eagles for the day. They provided many great insights on the how the law applies to social media, issues that nonprofits may face and ways to approach social media to avoid possible legal issues in the future. Check out the transcript for all the great information! Also a big thank you goes out to Jamie Millard (@jjmillard) from Peoples Center Health Services and Paper Darts arts and literary Magazine (@PaperDarts) for putting together the transcripts which requires some technical know how that yours truly does not have. Jamie does this each week, rain or shine and I am very thankful to her for that. If you have a moment drop her a tweet and tell her thanks! Also, check out Paper Darts, it’s pretty cool!
