Mobile Giving: #NpTalk ChatTranscript 1/19/11

by Nicole Harrison on January 25, 2011 · 0 comments

Our topic for last week’s nonprofit talk #NpTalk was mobile giving. It was a great conversation about text giving, mobile web giving, apps for giving and more. The group had some good ideas and questions too.  One thing is for sure, we are headed towards a future of mobile connecting, is your nonprofit ready? Read through the transcript below (PDF here) to check out the chat and please join in by adding your comments on this post.

“If you look at it long-term, #haiti #text #giving wasn’t successful. Only .3% of those who gave opted to recv future texts from ARC.” – @JennyFloria

“must be part of a wide choice of giving opps for donor I think…..just another channel in the multi-channel scheme” – @joannefritz

“Lack of mobile giving success is surprising. Personally, I’d much rather text a donation than enter cc info online. #GenY” – @m3ggiesue

“In terms of app use, getting folks to use it will probably be similar to getting folks to give online. Need a good plan.” – @JoppaThoughts

“This idea of ‘no checks’ is fascinating, every org that doesn’t accept online gifts should pay attention!” – @ECCSonline
