Spelling gaffes beware: Facebook-ians can edit you away!

Spelling errors making you feel like a buffoon on Facebook? Did you comment on your friend’s status about their new house, congratulating them on their “new hose”? Never fear! Facebook’s edit button may have just answered your grammar-blunder prayers! Last Thursday the site started offering users the ability to edit their comments. That’s right. Whether it’s a comment on a picture, status or link- you’ll be able to change it! The new edit option appears in the form of a small pencil icon on the right side of the comment. Once a user clicks on the pencil, a drop-down menu pops up with the option to edit the comment, or to delete it entirely. However, Facebook will also be making visible the editing history for all comments, in an attempt to not confuse other commenters on the context of a conversation. So what do you think? Do you see this as an improvement to Facebook? Would you prefer editing histories not be shared? We’d love to hear your thoughts! Photo Credit
